What is the minimum dimming level for the light intensity?

To optimize your plants' growth with Aether undercanopy lighting, it's crucial to adjust the intensity at key stages of the flowering cycle.

Early Flowering:
We recommend starting with the undercanopy lights dimmed to 40% on day one of flowering. Gradually increase the intensity, aiming to reach 100% by the end of day 14. This gentle ramp-up not only prevents light stress but also helps avoid unwanted stretching, ensuring a smooth and controlled transition for your plants during this critical stage.

Late Flowering:
As your plants near harvest, reducing the light intensity helps maintain the quality of the buds closest to the lights. About two weeks before harvest, we recommend dimming the lights to 60%-80% for optimal results.

By carefully managing the light intensity during these critical phases, you’ll support healthier growth and higher-quality yields.

How are the lights supported or mounted?

For an affordable and efficient setup, standard plastic pots turned upside down are a great choice. While it might seem like a budget option, it offers quick, easy installation and simplifies post-harvest removal. To ensure stability, use pots along with PVC brackets to support each joint between the lights, creating a reliable and hassle-free system..

How do I connect the accessory wire to the controller?

Aether units are equipped with a female RJ11 port (phone jack) that has a waterproof cap to maintain their IP66 waterproof rating. Inside the port, you’ll find an RJ11 placeholder piece already inserted. To connect the controller, simply remove this placeholder and replace it with an RJ11 cord (phone line) that links directly to the controller.

Important: If the RJ11 placeholder remains inserted while the Aether’s power cord is plugged in, the lights will stay on continuously until the power cord is unplugged. Once the placeholder is removed, the lights will turn off. The lights will only function correctly according to the controller’s settings when the RJ11 cord is connected to the controller.

What is the ideal height for installing the units?

The best height depends on the size of your plants, but lights should be positioned just above the containers (whether pots or rockwool) to prevent light from hitting the substrate. For example, if you're using 2-gallon pots, flipping one upside down will create the perfect height. If space is tight, you can stack 1-gallon pots until you reach the optimal height. This method ensures efficient light coverage and can be easily adjusted to fit your growing setup.
